Important, especially if you want your edits to stick around.  Which we do.

wrap citations in <ref> tags </ref> and use a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_templates|Citation Template]] in between to format the info.  

At the bottom of the page be sure to add a <references/> tag below a "References" header so they'll show up.  Look at the code in other pages for reference (no pun intended).
